2020 Swim Tryouts

Keep in mind that these are guidelines and that individuals are responsible for their own safety and well-being during this time. This means monitoring your own social distancing and/or wearing a mask when not in the pool.

Will masks be required?

Yes. Masks will need to be worn on the pool deck if you are not swimming.

Will temperatures be taken of all the athletes before entering the pool area?
No. It will be expected that the parents have verified this before they come to the pool.

How will social distancing be maintained while in the pool?
This will depend on the number of students trying out but generally, we will try to ensure that there are no more than 4 swimmers per lane.

Will parents, legal guardians or family be allowed on the pool deck?
Unfortunately, no only swimmers and divers are allowed on the pool deck.

Will the restrooms and changing areas be open and available?
Restrooms will be available but changing areas and showers will not. Athletes must come to the pool prepared to swim/dive.

When and where will results from the tryouts be posted?
Swimmers will receive an envelope when they leave the pool on Aug 28 letting them know if they made the team or not. Divers will need to check the dive website for information.

Can I try out if all of my paperwork is not done thru register my athlete?
No. The coaches have access to make sure you have been cleared. If you have not been cleared, you will miss a day of try outs.

Will we have meets?
The AIA is still working on this but nothing has been finalized.
