Head Coach: Stephanie Carrasco

Coach Carrasco started swimming when she was 8 years old, then swam competitively during high school at Chandler High. After graduation, she was a volunteer coach at Chandler High School, and then became an assistant coach. When Hamilton High opened, she coached their team for two years, and then took time off to start her family.  She started coaching again at Chandler High School before transferring to Perry. This is Coach Carrasco's 8th year at Perry High School and 5th year as the head swim coach. She has coached many levels of swimmers, including state champions.

Assistant Coach: Rich Jacobs

Rich has been coaching swimming since 2003. He coached Rio Salado Swim Club from 2003-2013 and Basha High during 2011-2012 seasons. During that time, he has coached and seen many past and current swimmers continue on with success both swimming and in life. Rich grew up in Seattle, WA and attended and swam for the University of Washington and Arizona State University. he graduated from ASU in 2005 with a degree in Communications and Recreation Management, but still loves to cheer on his Seattle sports teams. Upon his graduation, Rich completed his post-baccalaureate degree in Physical Education. He currently works in the Chandler Unified School District at CTA Humphrey, where he enjoys the opportunity to teach elementary children grades K-6 the benefits of life-time activity through success oriented physical education.

 

Rich had much success during his swimming career. Some of his top swimming results include qualifying for and competing in the 2000 Olympic Trials, finishing 31st in the 400IM. He also made the final and finished in the top 8 in the 2001 Summer Swimming Nationals in the 400IM. In 1998, he finished 2nd in the junior National Swimming Championships in the 400IM. Some of Rich's top times are:

Yards: 200IM: 1:49.92, 400IM: 3:50.65, 200Free: 1:43.21, 500Free: 4:31.21, 1000Free: 9:28.33

Meters: 200IM: 2:07.90, 400IM: 4:28.49, 400Free: 4:12.27

Coaching Swimming and teaching PE are great ways for Rich to teach children, young adults, and adults alike how to improve themselves by hard work and dedication. Rich tries to the best of his ability to bring a positive atmosphere where everyone not only learns how to swim efficiently, but also learns how to challenge themselves while still enjoying the experience. He currently lives in Gilbert with his beautiful wife Jamie, daughter Jayda who was born in January 2013, son Breden who was born in September 2015 and dog Koco. Rich contends to this day that Jamie makes him a better person.


Assistant Coach: Jaimee Lujan

So excited to be coaching swimming at Perry High School!!  I was a national level and collegiate swimmer back in the day.  I have coached swimming for the last 5 years at Higley High School. Before that, I taught swimming lessons as well as coached swimming in CA.

I am now a Para Professional at Perry High School.  I love sports, nutrition, reading and exercise. I have three great children and an amazing husband.  We are a huge sports family and we love to camp together when we have time in our hectic schedule.

Diving Coach: Keddi Murrish

Coach Murrish has been involved in the diving world as an athlete or coach for over 20 years. She was named the AZ State Dive Coach of the Year in 2010, 2012, and 2013, and served on the board of the Arizona Interscholastic Swim & Dive Coaches Association (AISDCA) as well as the AIA Swim & Dive Advisory Committee. Coach Murrish was the head diving coach at Mesa High for three years, then moved to Perry and has coached here since the school opened in 2007. Diving at Perry High is a fun and rewarding experience. Our team will set and achieve goals, improve strength and coordination, and make lifelong friends. Come join us!
